CAROL CROWDER RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS TEACHING AWARD

Ms. Crowder was recently presented with the Balcomb Award for her exemplary teaching of science. Only one community college professor in each region is given this prestigious award each year which is sponsored by the Southwestern and Rocky Mountain Division of the American Advancement of Science. Crowder was nominated for the honor by a former student who was greatly inspired by her teaching of science and is soon to receive his doctorate in population genetics from Colorado State University.

The associate dean of Natural Sciences, Gary Clark, says of Carol "She is a wonderful teacher who makes complicated material easy to understand. She receives outstanding reviews from her students and it is always a delight to watch her teach."

Dr. Sandy Shugart, North Harris College president, says "Carol is an excellent teacher. She is truly an example of the quality of professors we have at North Harris College."
