Large Intestine - Colon Mucosa
The colon lacks villi (no lacteals) the deep pockets are called
crypts of Lieberkuhn.
The mucosal layer villi of the large intestine is filled with
goblet cells
. The mucus secreted by these goblet cells compacts the feces.
