Transitional Epithelial Tissue of the Urinary Bladder

The loop of transitional epithelial cells somehow did not relax they are stretched which causes the transitional loop layer to have less depth due to less cells (full bladder).

The surface cells outside the loop are relaxed which causes the cells to bunch up and cause the transitional layer to be deeper (empty bladder).

Immediately below the transitional cells is the subserous layer made of fibrous tissue with many elastic fibers which flexes with the stretching and relaxing of the transitional epithelial above.
