Phys 2426 Electricity, Magnetism & Light

PHYS 2426

Prerequisite: PHYS 2425, ENGL 0305 or ENGL 0316 AND ENGL 0307 or 0326, OR higher level course (ENGL 1301), OR placement by testing

Credit: 4 3 hrs. lec.; 3 hrs. lab

This course is a continuation of PHYS 2425, including the study of electrostatics, Gauss 's law, circuit theory, magnetism and Faraday 's law, electromagnetic waves and Maxwell 's equations, geometric and physical optics, and introduction to modern physics. It includes an appropriate laboratory program illustrating the principles learned in lecture. This course is primarily for physical science and engineering majors.
